Activate the GPS module in the company panel and add your vehicle. The BauFin Box arrives by post fully configured — the SIM card with data is already inside. Just plug it into the OBD socket (under the steering wheel in almost every car) and you are done. No garage, no tools, 2 minutes.

After plugging in, the system automatically checks which data your vehicle reports reliably (odometer, engine data, fuel data) and picks the best source for the kilometres. You simply drive as usual — within 48 hours the system reports the vehicle as ready.

In the GPS module you see all vehicles on a real-time map: where they are, driving or parked, last route. Handy for crew planning — one glance instead of five calls. The maps run on our own servers in the EU.

Construction sites from your orders automatically become known places. Add zones like wholesaler, petrol station, office or home — your own zones take two clicks. When a trip ends in a known zone, the system fills in the destination and assigns the order by itself.

Every trip is automatically classified as business or private — based on your customer addresses and known places. Reclassifying takes one click. If a business trip is missing its purpose, the system reminds you in time — before the 7-day deadline from case law runs out.

Closed days are sealed (GoBD): no silent changes, only documented corrections. Export the finished mileage log as a German-language PDF — in the format tax auditors expect. The kilometres come from the vehicle and match the odometer.

The BauFin Box reports fault codes (DTC) and the check-engine light before a problem becomes a breakdown (on vehicles that report engine data — depends on model/year). Plus phone alarms for towing, unexpected movement or device disconnection — at night too.

Tracking employee vehicles only with documented consent (GDPR) — you manage consents right in the system. Private periods can be excluded from tracking. All data stays on servers in the EU, no US services.
